How to make your broadband connction to work:

There are three steps to follow.

1. Locate and remove the following section in /etc/dbus-1/system.d/NetworkManager.conf:
<deny send_destination="org.freedesktop.NetworkManager"
      send_interface="org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.PPP"/>
2. Restart the NetworkManager
/etc/init.d/NetworkManager restart
3. Close all the consoles where you logged as root or as sudo su! No, it's not a joke, that's the source of the bug. :) And, of course, try to reconnect again. :) More details about this bug can be found here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/371291
